A perfect pairing

COUNTRYSIDE, Ill. - Field trips, swimming and rock climbing are just some of the adventures Countryside children can expect this summer at day camp. Countryside is continuing to expand their offerings to its children with its recent partnership with the Greater LaGrange YMCA this summer for day camp.

The YMCA will be holding their day camp program at Countryside Park this summer. This program will replace Countryside's Fun in the Park program.

"It is a great opportunity to work with the YMCA and we look forward to offering Countryside children a great program at our neighborhood park," said Mayor Robert Conrad. "Campers will get the convenience of a neighborhood program with the benefit of more activities."

Countryside residents will not only have the convenience of the program being held in their town but also will be guaranteed a spot at a reduced rate. Day camp runs from June 16 to Aug. 8 and both a full day and half day program are offered. Parents also have the choice of early drop-off and a late pick-up.

"They are able to offer our residents a fantastic camp that uses our beautiful park and their resources at the YMCA," Conrad said. "Our community partnership will benefit residents with a guaranteed spot at a reduced rate."

Each week all campers will go on a field trip. In addition, full-day campers will be bused each week to a YMCA for swimming and rock-climbing. The half-day program is offered from 9:30 a.m. to Noon and full-day is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early drop-off begins at 7 a.m. and late pick-up ends at 6 p.m. The camp is open to children ages 5-12 and registration will be available through the YMCA.
