New condominiums replace former bar Countryside, Illinois - It was a groundbreaking day in Countryside! Mayor Carl LeGant took the driver's seat, as Aldermen Karen Michalczyk, Robert Pondelicek, Wayne Straza and John Von Draske, and city staff looked on, in bulldozing Tooters Bar and Grill to make way for a new condominium development.
The development, Clocktower Pointe, is located on Willow Springs just north of Joliet Road. It will consist of six buildings with 18 condominium units in each building including two penthouse units. Gregory Serduke of Boomerang Properties in LaGrange Highlands is developing the complex.
LeGant said the new development will be a great asset to Countryside and is concurrent with the City's comprehensive plan and redevelopment.
"This is a great addition to our community," LeGant said. "These units will provide new living options to both our Countryside residents and those looking to locate in our town."
The unincorporated Lyons Township land for the development was annexed by the City of Countryside prior to the groundbreaking.
Countryside, Illinois, Chicago's Western Gateway, is conveniently located just off the Stevenson Expressway and I-294, home to the best hotels in the western suburbs. Prompted by a need for municipal water, residents banded together to incorporate Countryside in 1960, today it's a retail and car buying destination. Countryside is home to 17 auto brands along LaGrange Road as well as Flagg Creek Golf Course, one of the finest 9-hole golf courses in the Chicago area.
